Joseph Chiazor Okechukwu

Joseph OkechukwuJoseph Chiazor Okechukwu is a Mechanical Engineer, a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), and a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).  He is also a Member of the Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA).  He holds a B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University.

Engr. Okechukwu retired from the Bank of Industry Limited (BOI) as Assistant General Manager and Head of Operations in 2014, after 28 years of meritorious service. He was at various times, the Head of Risk Management Group, Small and Medium Enterprises Group (Aba Zonal Office) and Administration Group of the Bank. He was a member of a team of BOI management that toured various African and Asian countries, which resulted in the repositioning of BOI as a world-class financial institution in 2001. He has served as Director representing the Bank of Industry on the board of many manufacturing companies and was appointed a Consultant and Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) to the Bank, after retirement.

Before joining BOI (then NIDB) in 1986, he had worked as an Engineer in NEPA Power Station, Ogorode, Sapele and Keystone Valve Limited, Lagos between 1982 and 1985.  He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of Chyfour Associates Limited; a company specialising in Industrial, Finance and Management Consulting. He is also the founder of Lily Hills Schools, a foremost educational institution that caters for children from Crèche to Secondary School and prepares them for university and tertiary matriculation.

Engr. Okechukwu is widely travelled, has visited 14 countries, and has attended various local and international courses on Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Project Management and Leadership.  He is a member of the Dispute Resolution Panel of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).  He holds the traditional title of ‘Omeroha’ of Akegbe Ugwu, in Enugu State, in recognition of his numerous contributions to the development of his community. He is a Knight of St. John International (KSJI).
